When Elena Marwood steps off the harbor ferry at Cape Verity, the fog swallows her past before she can reach the dock. She has come to bury her estranged mentor, the celebrated glass artist Margaret Hollis, but Margaret has left behind something more dangerous than grief: a final glass sculpture, fragile and deliberately crafted, containing a confession no one was meant to read. As Elena traces the threads of Margaret's last days, she draws the attention of the town's most guarded citizens, including the brooding Callum Reyes, whose loyalty to Margaret runs deeper than blood, and the unsettling Ferry Woman, who seems to know the weight of every secret that crosses the water.
