The Salt-Marsh Confession
A heavy manila envelope, postmarked Crane Cove and smeared with something brown, arrives unbidden at Eleanor Vesper's door, and pulls her back to the salt-marshes she thought she'd escaped. Each clue Eleanor follows leads deeper into the marsh, where the ground itself gives way and the past refuses to stay buried. To expose what really happened to Harriet May Crane, Eleanor must betray someone she loves. To stay silent is to become complicit in a death the village has already agreed to forget. The marsh is patient, the fog is thicker, and the confession was not meant to be ignored.
