The Winterglass Crown
The sun hasn't risen in a thousand years, and the only light in the frozen sky of the Solhart kingdom is a crown made of glass, hanging where no crown should be. Sera Coldspring is an undertaker's apprentice in a world where death is routine. Her master, Old Tormund, keeps woodcuts of that crown wrapped in oilcloth and will not show her them twice. But when the crown's light fractures the winter and visions of Queen Isolde and King Aedric the First flood the palace halls, Sera is drawn into a succession crisis that will shatter the kingdom. Prince Aedric Solhart, Queen Mother Selene, and Lord Chancellor Brem each claim the crown for different ends. Lord Maren Ashford moves his ambush captains through the salt roads while Lady Vesper Aldren works in shadows. The painted Sunheart is only an image now. The Sun-Guard shades patrol empty roads. And beneath it all, the Wintermother stirs , something older than the frost that seals the sky. When King Aldric Solhart dies and the frost wraith takes the throne's shadow, Sera must find Old Tormund, decode Archivist Pell's records, and face the Pale Oracle, the Salt Sphinx, and Frostmother Ysmra before the crown's final layer peels away. The Winterglass Crown sees through everything , through lies, through ice, through painted hearts , and at its center, the truth is small and sharp as a pin. Sera will reach that center. The question is whether she survives what's waiting there, or whether the Wintermother's long night claims the last light the Solhart world has ever known.
