The Unspooling
When a dead thread snaps in the Loom-chamber, three years of woven memory begin to bleed back into the world. Maren Solvik has been the Loom's only weaver since the catastrophic Unbinding, her fingertips threaded to ten thousand quantum filaments that bind consciousness, memory, and matter into a single coherent tapestry. When she finds the dead strand, she should cut it. Instead, something answers back. Ilsa Venn was archived as residual echo after the Unbinding, a trace left in the lattice when her physical form was lost. Now she is walking again, breathing, demanding a life she was never meant to keep. To save the Loom, she must sever the residual connections binding the dead to the living. To save them, she must hold the weave together long enough to understand why the Unbinding really happened.
