Black Glass Highway
Cassidy Rourke is a long-haul driver with a missing brother, a dead-end rig, and a coastline of fog she knows by heart. So when a soaking-wet drunk named Holden Pace stumbles into her cab on the last run of the night, she almost turns him away, until she sees the photograph clutched in his hand. The face looking back is her brother's. Declan has been gone a year. He is not supposed to be alive. He is not supposed to be standing next to a man who, hours later, is found executed on the floor of a Portland sober-living house. Holden claims he stole the photograph from a gray-coated operative. He claims a corporation called Meridian BioSolutions is moving human cargo inside sealed shipping containers. He claims the FBI already knows. None of this explains why Cassidy's own parents are staged as decoys, or why federal marshals are about to swarm her cab at a closed depot. As Cassidy follows Declan's trail across Oregon and into the high desert, she trades her trailer, her safety, and her last clean name for the one piece of evidence that can break Meridian open, a recorded confession locked on Declan's watch. But the gray-coat man is patient, Roland Ashbury is watching, and the highway is running out. Cassidy can deliver the truth to a federal task force in the morning, or she can vanish into the same black glass that swallowed her brother. Either way, she drives on alone.
