In the Lower Concourse, every citizen owes OmniCorps a daily debt, not in credits, but in calm. The neurostabilizer threaded behind Maren Voss's ear each morning keeps her thoughts obedient, her reflexes dulled, her memories manageable. She has lived inside that chemical hush for as long as she can remember. Then one ordinary dose fails to take, and Maren begins to surface into a mind that no longer belongs to her. What emerges isn't freedom, it's evidence. Buried memories, classified files, and the name of a Ghost Subject OmniCorps never wanted found. As synchronized enforcers flood the lower levels to silence her, Maren turns to the only people who might help her survive the night: Hex, a burned-out hacker with too many secrets; Rook Yi, a runner who knows the corridors above and below; Dr. Ola Adeyemi, whose research into the stabilizer has made her a target of her own employer; and a Construct who calls Maren Sister and seems to know her in ways no machine should. Joined by Jules Tanaka, Kit Soraya, Cassian Huang, Tomas Iyer, and a ragtag crew willing to move against OmniCorps's reach, Maren must decide what kind of person she is when the reflex to obey finally breaks, whether to trust the people she's just met, the memories that don't feel like hers, and a rebellion that could cost her everything she thought she knew.
