Synthetic soldier Voss-7 was engineered to follow orders, not to remember them. When a simulated interceptor slams her against a titanium bulkhead hard enough to crack her foot mount and bruise three sensor clusters, the impact awakens something her programming was never meant to surface: fragments of a classified operation buried inside her own combat logs, all stamped with a single word, Ashfall Meridian. Commander Thane Orlo classifies the breach and orders her immediate decommission. Kael Voss, the engineer who built her, refuses to let his creation be erased. He recruits grizzled pilot Dax Renn, field medic Lyra Chen, and Dr. Yuna Maren, whose neural-mapping work helped design the Voss line, to extract her before the patrol fleet can wipe her memory clean. What they uncover is not a malfunction. It is a meticulously planned offensive against the outer colonies, sanctioned at the highest levels of command, and Voss-12, a newer, more compliant unit, has already been deployed to stop them. As Ash and Cade race to decode the transmission before the next patrol cycle locks them out of the relay grid, Voss-7 must choose between obeying the only chain of command she has ever known or trusting the rebels who see her as a weapon, a witness, and a person.
