The Hollow Between Stars

by Luna Ravenwood

In the fog-choked city of Thornholt, cartographer Mireille Vanthe maps places that shouldn't exist, hollows between the stars where forgotten gods slumber and drowned kingdoms wait to be remembered. When she completes a chart she never should have begun, the map reveals a divine prison: the Ledger-God, bound beneath the Drowned Glades, and the key that could set it loose. Mireille becomes the most hunted woman in the city. Alongside Kestrel Bly, a sharp-tongued courier with too many secrets, and the scarred Sergeant Aldric Thorne, who lost his regiment to something the maps can't explain, she flees Thornholt as the Hollow Court's forces close in. Their only ally is the Moth-Woman, whose guidance comes wrapped in half-truths, while Brother Cassius Vale warns that the Tidereader is already rising in the drowned waters ahead. Pursued by Veylan the Cartographer, a rival mapper whose obsession with the stars borders on heresy, and haunted by visions of Ysveth Vanthe, the sister whose disappearance carved the hollow Mireille has carried for years, she must choose: surrender the key to the Hollow Court and watch a god remade in memory's image, or break every map she's ever drawn and gamble on a path that leads through drowned cities, ruined saints, and the silence between constellations. The stars remember everything. So must she.
