The Salt and the Thorn

The archive smells of salt. Maren Holloway knows it the moment she pries a loose tile from the flagstone and unearths a journal that should have burned with its owner , Vyrn the Cartographer, whose maps showed places no compass could reach and whose body was never recovered from the tide.
