About
Neonbreak is a tactical turn-based strategy game set in a cyberpunk dystopian Earth of 2049. Birth rates have collapsed in 80% of countries, the climate is past tipping, and 12 surviving mega-corps own the air, the water, the data, and the governments. The aliens arrive as a new threat on a broken world.
You command a 4-agent paramilitary squad (lead + medic + tech + recon) funded by 3 competing corps (Aramitsu / Kageyama / Voltline). One mission slice: 1 geoscape with 1 alien-trajectory, 1 tactical mission on a procedurally-generated 20x20 (400-tile) crashed-UFO-in-the-slums map, 3 biomechanical aliens (drone / warrior / queen), full turn loop with TU-cost movement + overwatch, 3x3 line-of-sight + fog-of-war + recon flashlight cone, 6-10 procedurally-placed cover positions, hacking as a turn action (tech agent only), 3 civilian NPCs (mission-loss at 2+ kills), save/load to localStorage.
The aliens are biomechanical refugees from Halune (purple sky, golden seas, red-giant sun), not invaders. The 3 alien types have narrative roles: drone is a worker defending itself, warrior protects a juvenile, queen broadcasts the distributed consciousness that holds 4M refugees together. Killing the queen destroys the fleet's coordination, not just one alien.
The visual identity is the cyberpunk-meets-biomech palette: orange-teal-purple for humans + iridescent pink-cyan chitin + golden pulse veins for aliens + muted blue-grey for civilians. 27 mmx-generated images cover the art budget in ~5 minutes. Patent-dodged combat uses internal dice + hit/miss feedback (no percent-to-hit UI per US 9,339,712).
