Why bring your own key?

Subscription AI tools resell you provider tokens at a markup, or worse, meter you in credits that expire. BYOK cuts that layer out: your key, your provider account, their listed price. Most chat usage costs cents per day direct from providers like DeepSeek or Groq. Dracon sells the tools (router configs, book writing, video metadata), not the tokens.

How your keys are stored

Keys are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) in your account vault, decrypted only when you ask, sent to your own browser over TLS, and held in page memory. Your browser calls the provider directly; keys never proxy through Dracon servers. Honest disclosure: our server can technically decrypt the vault (that is the trade for cross-device sync), so we never log decrypted keys and lists show hints only. Prefer nothing at rest? The chat also accepts session-only keys that vanish when you close the tab.
